A few weeks ago, I found myself back in Tehran, a city that I love deeply, yet often find to be the best and worst place to live at the same time. The city’s contrasts never cease to amaze me, and this time was no different. I was invited by Nikan High School, a prestigious institution located in the upscale area of Freshteh, to conduct a seminar on practical career advancement in our era.
Nikan School, established in 1950, is one of Tehran’s most respected educational institutions, known for its academic excellence and commitment to nurturing future leaders. The school has a rich history and is recognised for its strong emphasis on both traditional values and modern education, making it a beacon of learning in Iran.
I must admit, I didn’t expect the overwhelming turnout. It was a weekend, and I assumed the audience might be small. But to my surprise, so many eager professionals showed up that we had to move the session to the amphitheatre just so everyone could have a seat.
I outlined three key steps to securing the job you desire on LinkedIn and talked about the diverse remote work opportunities available with international companies for Iranian professionals. We also explored the significance of LinkedIn, sharing some eye-opening statistics on its role in recruitment, and I offered tips on how to create a standout profile.
The energy in the room was palpable. It was heartwarming to see so many bright minds eager to learn and take their careers to the next level. I left the session feeling inspired and hopeful about the future of these young professionals.
Tehran, with all its complexities, once again proved to be a place of endless potential. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and help empower the next generation to navigate their careers in this ever-changing world.
